Tenazas received her B.A. from the College of the Holy Spirit in the Philippines and her M.F.A. from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan (where she studied with the influential designer Catherine McCoy). She has taught as a Professor of Design at California College of Arts and Crafts and has been a visiting faculty member at Yale University, California Institute of the Arts, and Rhode Island School of Design. A recipient of several design awards, she has exhibited her work at the Pompidou Center in Paris and the Fortuny Museum in Venice.
